From Student to Bitcoin Pioneer

Paul Simatende's journey into the world of Bitcoin began with his enrollment in the Mi Primer Bitcoin Diploma program offered by Bitcoin Victoria Falls. This comprehensive course equipped him with a deep understanding of Bitcoin's principles and practical applications. However, Paul didn't stop at personal enlightenment; he envisioned a broader impact.

Recognizing the challenges faced by unbanked students and the potential of Bitcoin to offer financial autonomy, Paul founded Bitcoin Campus Zambia at his university in Lusaka. This student-led initiative aims to integrate Bitcoin into everyday campus life, fostering a financially inclusive ecosystem.

Bitcoin Campus Zambia: A Student-Led Revolution

Launched on May 7th, 2025, Bitcoin Campus Zambia commenced with a five-week course attended by over 35 students. The initiative focuses on:

• Education: Delivering the Mi Primer Bitcoin curriculum and conducting hands-on workshops about transaction mechanics and wallet security.

• Financial Inclusion: Empowering unbanked students with access to borderless digital money.

  "By transforming university campuses into hubs of financial innovation, Paul Simatende empowers students to take control of their economic futures through Bitcoin education."

• Innovation: Piloting on-campus use cases that can be scaled nationwide.

• Community Growth: Building bridges between students, faculty, and local merchants.

Paul's vision is amplified through his collaboration with his friend and fellow Bitcoin enthusiast, Kaygan. Together, they co-facilitate workshops and mentor students, ensuring that the initiative remains dynamic and responsive to the needs of the student body. Their partnership exemplifies the power of teamwork in driving meaningful change within academic institutions.
