Today, we shine a light on Walusungu Nyachikanda, a passionate educator and media creator dedicated to empowering the next generation through financial literacy.

From Diploma Graduate to Youth Educator

Walusungu's journey into the Bitcoin ecosystem began with her completion of the Bitcoin Victoria Falls Diploma program. This comprehensive course provided her with a solid foundation in Bitcoin principles and practical applications. Eager to share her knowledge, Walusungu took on the role of teaching Chapter 10 of the Bitcoin Diploma to new cohorts, exemplifying her commitment to education and community development.

BitJR Academy & Space: Empowering the Next Generation

In Livingstone, Zambia, Walusungu founded BitJR Academy & Space, a community-rooted financial literacy initiative targeting children and teens aged 6–17. The academy employs engaging, hands-on learning methods to demystify complex financial concepts, making them accessible and enjoyable for young learners.

Key activities at BitJR Academy include:

• Bitcoin Games and Storytelling Sessions: Interactive sessions that teach Bitcoin concepts through play and narrative.
  
  

• Classroom Bitcoin Saving Challenges: Practical exercises that instill saving habits and financial responsibility.
  
  

• Bitcoin Wallet Activities and Meet-ups: Hands-on experiences with digital wallets to build familiarity and confidence.
  
  

The academy aims to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children can explore financial concepts and develop skills that will serve them throughout their lives.
